In M&A and private equity transactions, Marta has been coordinating legal due diligence teams, advising financial entities, target companies, vendors and buyers in the drafting and negotiation of all relevant documents and contracts, and in the procedures of prior assessment and notification of mergers before the competent regulatory entities.

As regards corporate advice, Marta helps clients in planning and implementing restructuring and transformation transactions within groups of companies and in any commercial and company law proceedings before the Portuguese courts.

Marta has been providing legal assistance regarding intellectual property matters, concerning trademarks and patents, as well as copyrights and performing rights in the areas of music, literature, cinema, architecture and others, as well as in the software development area, also assisting clients on designing and implementing business models involving intellectual property matters.

Marta has a broad experience in providing legal assistance in connection with payment systems and with the provision of payment services based in her in-depth knowledge of the specific features of the national and international payment system sector. Marta has also advised clients in competition proceedings before the Portuguese Competition Authority, the European Commission and the regulatory courts, and has experience in proceedings regarding anti-competitive practices.
